Winter Storm Jonas has caused all sorts of problems up and down the East Coast, but for Mike Trout, it’s the perfect storm.

That’s because the Los Angeles Angels outfielder is a self-professed weather geek, and the blizzard has created pretty wild conditions in his hometown of Millville, N.J.

As such, the crazy weather had Trout all sorts of excited, so much so that he actually called into the Weather Channel on Saturday morning to deliver an update from his neck of the woods.

Judging by Trout’s comments, the dude clearly loves him some weather.

“It’s been crazy, for sure,” Trout told the Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore. “Obviously, up all night, up every hour, checking the measurements. We probably got about a foot and it’s coming down steady right now,” Trout said. “It’s blowing hard. … The roads are terrible. You know, it’s just — it’s awesome. I love it.”

The 24-year-old even ventured out into the middle of the storm late Friday night to document the madness.

Trout clearly is getting the most out of his favorite hobby before he returns to sunny Los Angeles. And according to Cantore, he’s got some skills, too.
