One team showed up to play in Saturday’s first Final Four matchup. That team was not Oklahoma.

The No. 2 seed Sooners got absolutely demolished by No. 2 seed Villanova at NRG Stadium in Houston, nearly getting doubled up by a final score of 95-51.

The Wildcats’ 44-point win represented the largest margin of victory for a national semifinal game in college basketball history, easily surpassing Michigan State’s 34-point blowout of Penn in 1979. Led by Josh Hart’s 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting, Villanova shot an incredible 71 percent from the floor and held Sooner sensation Buddy Hield to nine points and four turnovers.

As you might expect, these developments didn’t make Oklahoma fans too happy. And as the final seconds ticked away, TBS’ television cameras found one young Sooners supporter who pretty much summed up his fan base’s mood.

Of course, that poor young fellow wasn’t the only Oklahoma fan left in a state of shock by the lopsided blowout.

And, as is custom in 2016, the Sooners’ loss sparked the inevitable wave of “Crying Jordan” memes.

Get ’em next year, Oklahoma.
