Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts extended his league-high hitting streak to 23 games Monday in his second at-bat against the Baltimore Orioles. With Mookie Betts on third base, Bogaerts laced a ball down the left field line at Camden Yards for an RBI double.

Bogaerts added a second double in the fifth inning, giving him 271 hits since the beginning of the 2015 season, most in Major League Baseball.
In his first at-bat of the day, Bogaerts grounded out on a swinging bunt, but Betts scored from second on a terrific, heads-up baserunning play, giving Bogaerts his first RBI on the afternoon.
Bogaerts’ 23-game hitting streak is the longest active streak in the majors and second this season only to teammate Jackie Bradley’s 29-gamer, which ended last week.
