Internet Clamors For Jared Goff After Case Keenum’s Laughably Bad Pick

The whole world saw how bad Case Keenum is Sunday.

The Los Angeles Rams quarterback had a pretty rough day against the New York Giants in the teams’ matchup at London’s Twickenham Stadium, throwing for just one touchdown with four interceptions.

Keenum saved his worst pick for last, though: With the Rams trailing by seven and under a minute remaining, the QB crossed signals with wide receiver Brian Quick, leading to this hilariously bad interception:

That pick sealed the Giants’ 17-10 win and raised an important question: Why the heck is Keenum starting when the team’s No. 1 overall draft pick, Jared Goff, is available on the bench?

The internet wondered the same thing after the game, as several NFL pundits and former league executives also weighed in.

It’s a bit perplexing why Goff isn’t starting for the 3-4 Rams, especially given the success of No. 2 overall pick Carson Wentz with the Philadelphia Eagles. Why not give the rookie a chance to grow in L.A.’s offense, especially given how bad Keenum has been?

But despite all the noise, Rams coach Jeff Fisher said after Sunday’s game the team is sticking with its veteran.

If Keenum has another bad game in Week 8, though, it might be hard to justify starting him in Week 9.
