NASCAR Driver For President In 2020? Drivers Tease Their Slogans

If the U.S. only picked NASCAR drivers to be as presidential candidates, it’s highly likely Dale Earnhardt Jr. would win the election. That’s not how it works, obviously, but that didn’t stop some a few drivers from playing pretend.

Ahead of the presidential election, NASCAR released a video Tuesday of four of its star drivers — Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr., Carl Edwards and Austin Dillon — coming up with slogans for their imaginary campaigns.

We warn you: None of these slogans quite have a ring to it like “Make America Great Again” or “I’m With Her.”

If any of these drivers won the presidential race — instead of one on the track — an option on the popular app “Trivia Crack” might not seem so absurd. One of the questions is “Who was the 18th president of the U.S.,” with Dale Earnhardt Jr. as a choice.

We’ve already seen people propose politicians cover themselves in the logos of corporations that support their campaigns, like NASCAR drivers do with the logos of their sponsors on their firesuits. Alas, this is probably the closest we’ll come to bringing NASCAR and the presidency together, for now.
