Looks like Andre Brown will have to postpone his rookie season a little longer.

The Giants running back tore his Achilles tendon during practice on Friday evening and will miss the entire 2009 season. According to the Associated Press, he was running a pass route out of the backfield when the tendon ruptured as he reached for a pass from David Carr.

New York selected Brown in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL draft. He will most likely be placed on injured reserve.

The 22-year-old N.C. State alum played in 44 games for the Wolf Pack. He started 30 games during his career and rushed for over 2,500 yards and 22 touchdowns.
