Agent Shopping Jason Bay as 'Most Complete Player' Joe Urbon is doing his best Scott Boras impression, and so far, it's not so bad.

Urbon represents free agent outfielder Jason Bay and has come out swinging in his opening remarks regarding his soon-to-be filthy-rich ball player.

The 2009-10 free agent class consists of a handful of sluggers, including fellow left-fielder Matt Holliday, but the way Urbon has been praising his client, it sounds as though Bay is the only one out there this offseason.

“I think the most important thing about Jason Bay is that he is truly the most complete player in this free agent class. I don’t think, I know,” the agent told WEEI.com. “If you take what we’ve divided into six categories — offense, defense, baserunning, consistency/durability, intangibles, handling the media, and the ability to succeed on a platform like Boston — and you look at them, there’s not a more complete player in this free agent market this year, and arguably last year, as well.”

But what about the slugger's defense?

“I think the only defensive statistic that I know for sure that is easily measurable is outfield assists and errors committed," Urbon added, "and Jason is just the third outfielder in major league history to lead the league in outfield assists while not creating an error all season, the last guy being Carl Yastrzemski."

Bay — or, as Urbon is hinting, the second coming of Yaz — has expressed interest in returning to Boston but is open for the taking. Other notable outfielders include Johnny Damon, Bobby Abreu, Carl Crawford, Vladimir Guerrero and Manny Ramirez (who has a $20 million option with the Dodgers).
