The Giants are still no closer to knowing whether or not Eli Manning will be able to start at quarterback against the Raiders on Sunday. Manning missed practice on Wednesday due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot, the New York Daily News reports.

According to Tom Coughlin there is a chance Manning could miss the entire week of practice and still start on Sunday.

“He’s done it before,” Coughlin told the Daily News. “He will know everything. His
tape time will probably be as good as, or maybe more than a normal
week. He will study hard.”

Manning has led the Giants to a 4-0 record with eight touchdowns and two interceptions. If he is unable to start, backup David Carr will start at quarterback, though Manning’s status could be a game-time decision.

“It could very well,” Coughlin told the Daily News. “When we say ‘day to day’ it’s not
only day to day (and) it’s not only how good he feels. But then the
doctors have to go along and tell us what they think he can do, if
anything, (each) day. He’s anxious. He wants to go out there and
practice. He would like to take some snaps.”
