The Rangers will have to wait at least one more game until the pesky Sean Avery returns to the lineup. Avery practiced on Wednesday with the team, but he did not participate in any serious contract drills. Still, he is hopeful he can fully participate in Saturday's practice, the New York Daily News reports.

"Just gonna give it a couple more days, make sure that I’m as close to
100 percent as I can be. It’s better for the team and better for myself in the
long run," Avery told the Daily News. "I’m not saying I’m not effective at 85 or 90 percent,
but I don’t think it’s fair to the team and I don’t think it’s fair to
myself when you do it this early. It’s not Game 80 where we’re in a
playoff race."

Avery injured his MCL prior to the start of the season when he collided with teammate Ryan Callahan during a morning skate. He has yet to play in any of the Rangers' three games so far this season.
