Manager Terry Francona may be welcoming a new, yet familiar face to his coaching staff.

According to The Boston Globe, Pawtucket Red Sox manager Ron Johnson will be joining the major league coaching staff in Boston. The report indicates that either Tim Bogar or DeMarlo Hale will leave their posts as base coaches to become the teams' next bench coach, and Johnson will take over either the first- or third-base coaching duties.

Johnson joined the Red Sox organization in 2000 as the manager of the Single-A Sarasota Red Sox in the Florida State League after eight seasons managing in the Kansas City organization. In 2005, Johnson took over the Pawtucket Red Sox managerial spot and has a 357-359 record over the course of five seasons.

Brad Mills became the manager of the Houston Astros earlier this offseason after serving with Francona and the Red Sox since the 2004 season.
