First Full-Squad Workout Highlights Opening Week of Spring Training While New Englanders trudge through Wednesday’s wintry mix, the Red Sox will step into the Florida sunshine and onto the freshly mowed grass at the Player Development Complex in Fort Myers for their first full-squad workout of the 2010 season.

Here are some other highlights of this week’s spring training schedule:

Wednesday
Principal owner John Henry, chairman Tom Werner and president/CEO Larry Lucchino will address the media following their annual team meeting.

Thursday
Lucchino, pitcher Clay Buchholz and representatives from the Jimmy Fund will hold the annual Rally Against Cancer news conference. As this year’s honorary Rally Against Cancer spokesplayer, Buchholz will encourage fans to partner with their companies and schools to contribute to the Jimmy Fund.

Friday
Manager Terry Francona, players, front office staff, Red Sox legends Jim Rice and Luis Tiant and NESN personalities Tom Caron and Heidi Watney will participate in the 17th annual team golf tournament at Forest Country Club to benefit the Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.

Saturday
The team will host the second annual Spring Training Open House at City of Palms Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday
Red Sox players and personnel will participate in the annual Spring Training Photo Day.
