Paul Pierce Suffers Shoulder 'Stinger' in Tuesday's Practice Two days after Paul Pierce was forced to leave Sunday's game against San Antonio with a shoulder injury, the health of the Celtics' captain is once again cause for concern in Boston.

Pierce suffered another shoulder "stinger," or nerve pinch, on Tuesday afternoon during the Celtics' practice in Waltham, Mass. He collided with a teammate setting a screen during a practice drill, and he fell to the ground in pain. He was then rushed off the floor to consult with the Celtics' training staff.

The team is optimistic that since the injury is just a stinger, Pierce should be fine to return to action on Wednesday against Oklahoma City at TD Garden. At the moment, though, the captain's status for that game is questionable.

Pierce is the Celtics' leading scorer this season with 18.2 points per game. The team is 42-21 this season with him on the floor and 5-5 without him.
