Boston Marathon Kicks Off Patriots' Day in Boston, But It's No Walk in the Park It seems wrong to make fun of people for wobbling down Boylston Street after they just ran 26 miles, but sometimes a photo can make you do just that.

This photo, taken near the finish line in 2009’s Boston Marathon, shows the kind of determination it takes to will one’s body down the final stretch of the race. But it’s also kind of funny. Even the cop in the background looks like he’s shining a wry smirk.

Comment of the day

When the going gets tough, the tough get going. When you’re a fan of a sports team, that often means sticking with that team through the troubling times. Unless you’re this guy.

“I am officially not watching or caring about the sox until June 1, 2010. At that point, if I notice a decent W/L ratio, I will resume watching. If not, this will be the 1st yr in 30 plus yrs I will not pay attention to them whatsoever. Looks like a bridge year will become years. They will need to replace half the team.”

Video of the day

The NHL playoffs are defined by intensity, execution and scoring on your own net in overtime to fall behind 2-1 in a No. 1 vs. No. 8 matchup. At least that’s what Dan Boyle was thinking.

In any case, you have to love this video, just for the fact that it includes the entire overtime period. The suspense builds, because you know the goal is coming, and when that goal comes, it’s hilarious. The video is capped off with one of the most memorable calls in San Jose history: “Dan Boyle put it in his own net.”

Yup, he did.
