FOXBORO, Mass. — The Patriots selected Georgia defensive lineman Kade Weston with the 248th pick in the draft Saturday. Weston, a 6-foot-5, 315-pounder, recorded 75 career tackles (42 solo) and four sacks in his four-year career.

He's a big, powerful defensive lineman who clogged the middle and caused problems for offensive lines in the SEC. Weston might have the versatility to play across the defensive line.

Weston will have his work cut out for him to earn a roster spot. He'll have to provide a strong showing throughout the summer and hope to earn a spot on New England's practice squad.
