Bruins Sign Second-Round Pick Yuri Alexandrov

The Bruins signed defenseman Yuri Alexandrov, a second-round pick
in 2006 by the team, to an entry-level contract on Sunday, GM Peter
Chiarelli
announced.

The 21-year-old Russian played five years on his hometown squad, the
Cherepovets Severstal, in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
Alexandrov just finished his finest season yet, registering 21 points on
six goals and 15 assists in 56 games. He compiled 43 points (16 goals
and 27 assists) in five seasons.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound defenseman was also a member of Team Russia in
the World Juniors Championships in 2007 and 2008.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
