It was a rough day for Red Sox fans on Monday when the MLB announced the first batch of American League voting results for the All-Star Game, as it looks like the infield will be covered in pinstripes at this year's Midsummer Classic.

The only leading A.L. infielder who does not call Yankee Stadium home is Rays third baseman Evan Longoria, who has 541,253 votes. Hot on his heels though is New York's Alex Rodriguez (411,655), who, if he surpasses Longo, can join teammates Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano and Derek Jeter, who are all leading vote-getters at their respective positions.

This year marks the 81st edition of the contest and it will be played on Tuesday, July 13 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

Dustin Pedroia is in second place among second basemen, trailing Cano by more than 200,000 votes. Victor Martinez is currently third among catchers, while Adrian Beltre is fourth at third base and Kevin Youkilis, who is second among all first baseman with a 1.079 OPS, is in fifth place.

In-stadium balloting concludes on Wednesday, June 23, while fans have the opportunity to cast their final ballots exclusively online at MLB.com by Thursday, July 1 at 11:59 p.m. (ET).
