The Roush Fenway team is gearing up for a star-studded weekend at the NASCAR Sprint Cup All-Star Challenge and Showdown, and it hopes that its stars can grab a few spots on the starting grid.

Roush’s Matt Kenseth is the only team member locked into the All-Star Challenge, while drivers Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle and David Ragan are looking to earn themselves a spot through the All-Star Showdown.

The Roush Fenway team has won the All-Star race three times with Mark Martin and Matt Kenseth behind the wheel. The team’s last All-Star victory came in 2005 on the shoulders of Martin.

Though the races do not award points, the Roush Fenway team is using the time to fine-tune before the Sprint Cup’s longest race of the season, the Coca-Cola 600, which will be the week after the All-Star event.

The team enters the points break in good position with three of the drivers in the top 10 of the Sprint Cup point standings. Kenseth leads the way, sitting in third place, while Biffle and Edwards sit in seventh and 10th, respectively.

The Showdown is May 22 at 7 p.m. at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The All-Star Race follows at 9 p.m. and the Coca-Cola 500 is May 30 at 5:45 p.m.

Here is the complete 2010 Sprint Cup schedule.
