Tiger Woods Withdraws From Players Championship With Possible Bulging Disk in Neck Tiger Woods
has taken himself out of the Players Championship on Sunday with a neck/upper back injury.

“I’ve been playing with a bad neck for quite a while. I’ve been playing through it. I can’t play through it anymore,” Woods told the Associated Press. “They want me to go get a picture on it next week. I might have a bulging disk.”

Woods is unsure as to the cause of the pain, but began feeling it prior to the Masters and claims to having a tingling sensation on his right side down to his fingers.

“Setting up over the ball is fine, but once I start making the motion, it’s downhill from there,” Woods said.

Woods was in obvious discomfort after hitting his drive to the right on the seventh hole. After talking to a PGA Tour official on the seventh tee, he walked to his second shot, hit it short of the green and then walked over to shake hands with playing partner Jason Bohn before leaving the course.

Woods was 2-over after his first six holes, which made him 2-under for the tournament.
