David Ragan is hoping to get his motor running in the Motor City this weekend as the NASCAR Sprint Cup comes to the Michigan International Speedway.

Ragan enters the race 25th in the Sprint Cup standings with 1408 points and one top-10 finish in his 14 starts.

In his six starts at Michigan International Speedway, he has three top-10 finishes, his best being in 2008 when he finished third after qualifying 16th.

"Michigan is a wide track that you can really maneuver around," said Ragan. "Michigan is the home track for Roush Industries folks and Ford, so it would be great to get them a win in their backyard."

His crew chief, Donnie Wingo, expects a long and clean race.

"Michigan is one of the tracks where there is typically a lot of green-flag racing, so Sunday’s race always has a good likelihood that it will turn into a fuel mileage race," he said.  "Michigan is a track that if you have a great handling car, it’s wide enough that strong cars can drive their way through the field."

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan will start on Sunday, June 13, at 1 p.m.
