Celtics free-agent guard Tony Allen is close to signing a multi-year deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

This comes about a week after the Celtics re-signed Ray Allen and Paul Pierce along with signing free-agent center Jermaine O'Neal.

The 2004 first-round draft pick averaged 6.1 points off the bench this past season, but it's his defensive contributions that will be missed the most.

The deal will reportedly start in the neighborhood of $3 million.
