Oakland A’s left-handed specialist Craig Breslow would be the perfect trade-deadline acquisition for the Red Sox, and according to Jeff Passan’s Twitter feed, the Yahoo Sports baseball columnist thinks it’s a possibility.

Passan reported via Twitter, "Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers looking at the smartest man in baseball, A’s LHR Craig Breslow. Better vs. RHH (.576 OPS) than LHH (.678 OPS)."

Breslow would help shore up a shaky Red Sox bullpen if he were to come over in a trade. Like Passan said, the 29-year-old southpaw is effective against lefties and righties. Breslow is 4-2 with a 3.02 ERA in 47 games for the Athletics this season.
