Takeru Kobayashi Evades Major League Eating Ban Despite Arrest at Hot Dog Eating Contest Apparently the Major League Eating commissioner doesn’t believe in running his empire with a Roger Goodell-like iron fist.

Takeru Kobayashi, known in the competitive eating world as “Tsunami,” will not face a ban from Major League Eating for his actions during the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on the Fourth of July in New York.

The world’s most famous eater stormed the stage after Joey Chestnut‘s fourth straight title, but the crude act wasn’t enough to keep him away from future competitions.

According to an MLE rep, Tsunami’s actions were “inappropriate and unfortunate, [but Kobayashi] is a great champ. Nathan’s Famous actually tried to get him to come to the event originally. There was a lot of back and forth negotiating but they couldn’t resolve it in time of the event.”

Quote of the Day

“I have no expectations. I could get signed this summer, I
could get signed in two years. Really, I’m just coming in here, trying
to prove a point and earn my spot.”

Comment of the Day

Keep the faith, Sox fans — even if it means lacing them up and pitching for the local nine yourself.

“I highly doubt that John….
So if you’re so awesome, go ahead and get a uniform on and shut up and
pitch. I am so sick of these fair-weather Sox “fans”!!! So what, the
team is bruised, banged up and sucks! They’re still your Sox
people!!!!!”
