Former Eagles running back Brian Westrbook is heading to the NFC West, but he's going to be going to San Francisco, not St. Louis as some previous reports had indicated he may.

The 49ers announced on Monday that they have come to terms with the free-agent running back. The full terms of the deal haven't been disclosed but the team said that the deal is a one-year deal.

Westbrook, who had spent his entire career in Philadelphia until now, missed a good portion of the 2009 season while battling concussions that threatened to end his career in the NFL.

His health will be a question for the 49ers, but if the two-time Pro Bowler can give the 49ers any sort of production it will be welcomed, especially when considering starter Frank Gore rushed the ball 229 times last year.
