Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez is in custody Thursday morning after an allegedly physically assaulting his father-in-law.
According to multiple reports, Rodriguez was taken into custody after the Mets' 6-2 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night.
According to the New York Daily News, the father-in-law suffered facial abrasions and was taken to the hospital shortly following the incident.
Rodriguez, who lashed out at reporters before the altercation, was charged with third-degree assault.
