New York Jets quarterback Erik Ainge, nephew of Celtics GM Danny Ainge, has entered a drug rehabilitation facility after a relapse with "recreational issues."

If Ainge makes the Jets' roster, he likely will be subject to an eight-game suspension, due to a first offense for anabolic steroids in 2008, the New York Daily News reports.

Ainge was a multisport star at the high school level in Oregon, and had an up-and-down career as the quarterback for the Tennessee Volunteers before being selected by the Jets in the fifth round in 2008.

About his current experiences, Ainge released the following tweet: "Thank you for all the love, thoughts, and concerns. I love you all."
