Daniel Nava will get a rare start in left field as the Red Sox load up their lineup with left-handers for the opener of a three-game series with the Seattle Mariners on Monday night at Fenway Park.

Nava, who has made just one start since July 19, is one of six left-handed bats for Boston against Mariners righty Doug Fister. Lefties have hit 40 points higher (.292) off Fister than right-handed bats.

Jed Lowrie will make his second straight start at second base since he came off the bench to slug a game-winning home run Saturday night against Toronto. Bill Hall, who homered for the fourth time in eight games Sunday, will be on the bench to start this one.
