Besides Tyler Seguin, Which Bruins Rookie Are You Most Excited to See Play This Preseason? It's officially hockey season in Boston.

Well, sort of.

The Bruins rookies take on the Islanders rookies on Wednesday night at the TD Garden in the first of a quick two-game exhibition series to kick off the B's preseason.

This contest not only gives the youngsters a taste of what a game night will feel like at the Causeway barn, it introduces the Black and Gold world to Tyler Seguin, Boston's first-round pick in this year's NHL draft.

But Seguin isn't the club's only young gun — not by any means. The young unit consists of an abundance of offensive and defensive weapons destined to sport the spoked-B someday soon.

There's Joe Colborne, the B's second "Jumbo Joe" of the century. This University of Denver alum who got a cup of coffee with Providence last season is embarking on his first full season as a professional. He's expected to be the No. 2 center behind Seguin in these rookie games.

Flanking Seguin and Colborne will be likely be stud wingers Jared Knight, Jamie Arniel, Lane MacDermid and Jordan Caron. On the blue line will be young defenders Steven Kampfer, Matt Bartkowski, Yury Alexandrov and Ryan Button, among others.
