After five seasons of serving primarily in his civvies on the Celtics bench, big man Brian Scalabrine has agreed to a non-guaranteed contract with the Chicago Bulls, according to Yahoo Sports.

Playing in just 264 games across his five years with Boston, Scal became an unlikely fan favorite for his energetic presence on the sidelines and eager attitude coming off the bench. The forward has averaged 3.3 points per game throughout his nine-year career in the NBA.

Now he'll be taking his talents to Chicago, following Celtics former assistant coach Tom Thibodeau, with whom he has built a strong relationship. According to the report, Thibodeau pushed hard to acquire Scalabrine for his first season coaching the Bulls.

Sources tell Yahoo that Scalabrine is a "good bet" to make the Chicago roster, as the Bulls currently have 12 guaranteed contracts at this point in training camp.
