Falcons Top NFC Team in NFL Power Rankings Week 6, But Still Trail Three AFC Leaders The NFC was supposed to be the stronger conference for the first time in a long time in 2010 as the Saints, Vikings, Packers and Cowboys were expected to be among the NFL’s best teams.

Instead, the NFC’s top team thus far has proven to be the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons, much like their star receiver Roddy White, manage to continually fly under the radar in the conversation about the league’s best, but the numbers are undeniable. They are 4-1, and their only loss came against the Pittsburgh Steelers who boast the league’s toughest defense.

In fact, the Steelers are one of three AFC teams ranked ahead of the Falcons in this week’s power rankings. The AFC occupies five of the top six spots, but who is atop the list?
