Report: Red Sox Have Their Sights Set on 'Bigger Fish' Than David DeJesus for Outfield After a 2010 season filled with outfield shakeups, the Red Sox are looking for a more permanent solution for the 2011 season. However, they are reportedly looking past David DeJesus.

According to a report by the Boston Herald, an MLB source said the Red Sox "have their eye on bigger fish" than DeJesus this offseason. The veteran outfielder was a possible option for the Red Sox over the summer, when they encountered the long-term losses of Mike Cameron and Jacoby Ellsbury.

Now that Cameron and Ellsbury are on the road to recovery, the Red Sox are no longer interested in DeJesus, who was traded to Oakland on Wednesday. DeJesus spent the previous eight seasons in Kansas City, and batted .318 in 91 games during the 2010 season.

The MLB source said the Red Sox have lost interest in acquiring DeJesus for their outfield, and are more serious about acquiring one of the top free-agent outfielders such as Carl Crawford or Jayson Werth.
