John Henry’s vision of recruiting young talent is already in the works at Anfield as Spanish ace Jesus Fernandez Saez, also known as Suso, signed his first professional contract with Liverpool on Monday.
Suso, who turned 17 on Friday, has experience at both the forward and midfield positions and is turning heads with the Liverpool reserve squad. According to the report by lfc.tv, Suso has been "excelling against older and more experienced pros," while playing in the reserves.
The young Spaniard's performance on the field is creating quite a buzz, and is even drawing comparisons with the team’s leading goal scorer, Fernando Torres. Liverpool reserves head coach John McMahon also compares Suso to Reds' forward Daniel Pacheco.
"We need to give him the ball and get him in the game because he can score goals as well as create them,” McMahon said of Suso. “He's a joy to watch."
Suso has already seen brief stints of playing time with the Reds in his promising career. He played during Liverpool’s pre-season match against Borussia Monchengladbach and also appeared at Anfield during the Jamie Carragher testimonial match against Everton earlier this season.
The contract with Liverpool has Suso signed until 2013.
