Top 10 Thanksgiving Foods to Eat While Watching Football Everybody knows what Thanksgiving is about — and it’s not Pilgrims and Indians. At this point, Thanksgiving is the day when we sit down with our families and do nothing but eat and watch the NFL, even if that means getting your only painful glimpse of the Detroit Lions for the year.

Each family celebrates the holiday a little differently. Some eat in the afternoon, while others wait until the evening. Some go with a traditional turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and potatoes lineup, while others go with heirloom dishes or just pig out on whatever they want.
