Two things were defiantly true after the biggest game in Mountain West Conference history. San Diego State is no longer undefeated, and Jimmer Fredette is still really, really good.

Fredette’s fifth career 40-point game propelled No. 9 BYU over No. 4 San Diego State on Wednesday night in Provo.

Fredette dropped 43 points on the Aztecs on 14-of-24 shooting, including a 5-for-8 showing from three-point land. Fredette is now averaging over 27 points per contest for the year.

BYU improved to 20-1 overall and 6-0 in the Mountain West Conference while the Aztecs dropped to 20-1 (5-1) with their first defeat of the season.
