Dan Patrick Comes to Jimmer Fredette’s Defense, Calls Out Rick Reilly, Colin Cowherd

With BYU's March Madness run coming to an end this past Thursday, the inevitable debate over whether Jimmer Fredette was overhyped and overrated all along followed.

Jimmer had 32 points in the Cougars' overtime loss to Florida, but he was an inefficient 3-15 on three pointers in the process and was unable to knock down crucial — albeit very difficult — shots in overtime.

In the wake of that effort, both Colin Cowherd and Rick Reilly of ESPN decided to jump off the Fredette bandwagon, with Cowherd calling him a media creation and Reilly saying that he has a great chance of being a Provo area Isuzu dealer.

Dan Patrick, however, came to Jimmer's defense on his radio show, finding irony in the fact that both Cowherd and Reilly work for ESPN, the company at the center of the Fredette "media creation."
