Glen Davis Questionable After Suffering Knee Injury Against Suns

Through the first 59 games of this season, Glen Davis is proud to be one of only three Celtics not to miss a single contest. That might change now, though, as the C's fourth-year forward was diagnosed Wednesday with a left patella tendon strain.

Davis will undergo an MRI on Thursday to evaluate the injury.

"I don’t know what’s going on," Davis said. "But we’ll get an MRI, and we'll see."

Davis went up for a dunk with 49 seconds left in the Celtics' win Wednesday over the Suns, and he came down hard, favoring his left knee. He limped off the floor, leaving the game in favor of Jeff Green.

While seeing Davis hobbled by the injury came as a surprise to most Celtic fans, Davis said Wednesday that he's actually been battling the knee pain all season.

"I've just been toughing through it," he said. "Just being tough. Just trying to be available to the team."

The Celtics are hoping that the injury isn't too serious. They've already battled enough adversity this year, and they're hoping not to encounter much more.

"We're back to that injury bug, and we're trying to maneuver around it," Kevin Garnett said. "I hope that he's not out for too long, or not out, period. Baby's a trooper — he's been playing hurt throughout this whole year, and some of last year, too. He grinds through it. Hopefully he's all good."
