Lucas believes in the positive changes that Kenny Dalgslish has brought about at Liverpool, and the 24-year-old wants to be a part of it for years to come.

"Always in the summer, a few players will go and a few players will come … I hope to be one of those that stays," he told the Liverpool Daily Post.

Lucas has one year remaining on his contract, and he said there have been no discussions regarding a new deal. Instead, his focus has become earning that next contract.

"I'm just looking at finishing this season," he said. "This season has been very good for me, and I just want to keep that going."
