The Vanouver Canucks defense was a little banged up toward the end of their Western Conference final series against the San Jose Sharks, but it appears as though the team will be getting some help up front for the Stanley Cup Final.

Forward Manny Malhotra, who has been sidelined since March 16 after being struck in the left eye by a puck, has been cleared to return to action.

Malhotra remains listed as day-to-day, and there is no word as to whether he will return when the Bruins and Canucks begin their series in Vancouver on Wednesday.

Malhotra, 31, had 11 goals and 19 assists in 72 games with the Canucks this season before the injury. If Malhotra returns, he will likely become the team's third or fourth-line center.
