LeBron James has undoubtedly put together his most impressive playoff run, and his undeniably clutch play has the Heat heading to the NBA Finals in year one of the LeBron-Dwyane Wade–Chris Bosh era.
And that has people angry.
They’re angry, of course, because they never got over “The Decision” and the Heat became the easy team to hate. That feeling was furthered in the third quarter of Game 5 on Thursday night .
James grabbed a rebound near the Chicago basket. Derrick Rose went to grab it a little late and got his hand on the ball. James, sensing the need to practice for an upcoming limbo event, bent backward before falling to the floor, acting as though he got poked in the eye. He hadn’t, but he sold it enough to get the foul called on Rose.
LeBron then winked to someone on his walk up the court, and he later scored 12 fourth-quarter points to lead the Heat to an 83-80 comeback victory.
And America got angry.

“What’s today’s date — the 26th? I say we’ve got about a month left. About a month left of continued hate. We’ll see what happens next year.”
–LeBron James, on how much longer he thinks he and the Heat will be basketball villains

Why did the TNT crew get such a kick out of this? That’s the real question.
