The last time the Portsmouth High School baseball team lost a game, not a single player on its current roster was even in high school yet.

The Clippers of Portsmouth, N.H., continued this incredible streak on Thursday, defeating Pembroke Academy, 10-2, for their 76th consecutive win, a new national record.

With the win, Portsmouth surpasses Homer High School in Michigan, which previously held the record for the longest winning streak at 75, set during the 2005 season.

"It's definitely, definitely [a] relief," Portsmouth pitcher/outfielder Keegan Taylor told ESPN.com. "It's always nice to have something off your back, but to me we're not done. It's more than just this. Definitely not satisfied yet. We want to be the last team standing."

Taylor is 6-0 on the mound this season and has never lost a varsity game (20-0). The senior will play for Northeastern next season.

The Clippers, winners of three consecutive New Hampshire state championships, bring their record to 13-0 with three games remaining. They will attempt to go for their 77th straight win against St. Thomas High School on Monday.
