Editor’s note: NESN.com is asking Bruins fans to share their favorite Bruins memory. Eric from Ocolo, Florida, shared the following moment.

My brother’s last wish was to meet his favorite player, Ray Bourque.

Once Ray found out about this through the Jimmy Fund, the Bruins dedicated a game to him (vs. Dallas), and after the game, with Ray’s wife and kids in the car, he stopped by the hospital to visit my brother and family. He took a picture with us (which never ended up coming out unfortunately) and signed autographs.

The next day, my brother was taken home for his last few days by hospice, and we learned that Bobby Orr had heard about my brother from Ray and was stopping by to say hi as well, but we had just left a couple hours before that.

The Bruins also sent us a Bruins book, puck and a signed stick by all the players. The only I regret that I had, besides the pictures not coming out, was not writing the Bruins thanking them for all of their generosity.

A couple years later, I did write a letter congratulating Bourque for winning the Cup in Colorado, which I hope he received.
