Danny Ainge, Jose Offerman, Michael Jordan Among Deadspin's '100 Worst Baseball Players of All Time' There have been many, many players in the history of Major League Baseball. Some have been quite good, and over 200 of them have earned enshrinement into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.

Deadspin decided that it wanted to recognize the players on the opposite end of the spectrum. On Wednesday, the blog released a “celebration” of “The 100 Worst Baseball Players of All Time.”

The No. 1 worst player of all time according to Deadspin? Mario Mendoza, of “Mendoza Line” fame. The blog notes that Mendonza’s career batting average was actually .215, a good fifteen points better than what you might expect.

Other notable names on the list include legendary Milwaukee Brewers announcer Bob Uecker (No. 2), former Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda (No. 5) and Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane (No. 11).

Not content with only featuring one-sport athletes, two basketball stars also made it onto the list. Michael Jordan, who famously flunked out of baseball with the Chicago White Sox, is listed as the sixth-worst ever. Celtics general manager Danny Ainge is right behind His Airness in seventh place, thanks to a short stint in the majors with the Toronto Blue Jays.

And in case you were wondering if any former Boston Red Sox players are mentioned, yes they were. Infielder Jose Offerman and relief pitcher Julian Tavarez made the cut, along with some other names from earlier days.
