James Harrison Says He'd Like to Meet 'Idiot' Tedy Bruschi, 'Steroid Cheater' Rodney Harrison in a Dark Alley As it turns out, “clown” may have been the nicest thing that James Harrison said about former Patriots Tedy Bruschi and Rodney Harrison in the highly publicized Men’s Journal article that’s had the sports world buzzing for days.

The preview of the story noted that the Steelers’ linebacker referred to both former players as “clowns,” but the full article reveals much worse.

“I hate those [expletives], especially those two clowns who talked about me after the fines,” James Harrison said, referring to Rodney Harrison’s and Tedy Bruschi’s comments made on TV. “Sayin’ I’m dirty — [expletive], [Rodney] Harrison was the dirtiest player ever, a steroid cheater who was known by the whole world to be a headhunter and late hitter. And Bruschi’s an idiot, straight-up simple. I’d like to meet them both in a dark alley.”

Rodney Harrison was asked to respond to the comments on The Dan Patrick Show on Thursday, but the former safety said he was more alarmed by the comments about commissioner Roger Goodell.

“Obviously it’s a senseless statement that he made calling Roger Goodell the devil,” Rodney Harrison said, as noted by SportsRadioInterviews.com. “How do you make comments like that? That’s flat-out cruel and that’s a little bit extreme. … I think it’s wrong, I think it’s immature, I think it’s ignorant and somebody needs to grab him by the coattails and tell this guy to shut up and grow up because it’s bad. You can’t make those type of statements about people.”

Rodney Harrison added that James Harrison’s comments will definitely lose him trust from his teammates and that the 2008 Defensive Player of the Year has more important things he needs to worry about.

“I just think it’s sad and somebody from the Pittsburgh organization needs to sit this guy down and say shut up and play football. Play football better. Like you said he’s not even the best defensive player on his football team,” Rodney Harrison said. “He needs to focus on that.”
