Kevin Durant Mulls Playing Abroad During NBA Lockout, Supports Yao Ming For Hall of Fame A flight from Oklahoma City to Beijing can take anywhere from 20 to 30 hours, so Kevin Durant had a lot of time to think en route to the Far East for a promotional tour.

Among those thoughts, which the NBA scoring leader expressed in reports by The Associated Press, are the prospects of playing abroad and Yao Ming's Hall of Fame credentials.

"It was exciting to watch such a tall guy but that can shoot the basketball and put so much pressure on your defense by playing down low, and also his defense, too," Durant said of the 7-foot-5 Houston Rockets center who is expected to announce his retirement from the NBA. "He does so much for the game, and he does deserve to be in the Hall of Fame."

Following the lead of a number of his fellow NBA stars, Durant also said he would look into playing abroad if a collective bargaining agreement cannot be reached in time to save the season.

New Jersey Nets guard Deron Williams has agreed to play for Besiktas in Turkey if the season is wiped out, and superstars such as Kobe Bryant are considering playing for foreign teams.

"I am going to take it slow," Durant said. "Everybody's going to wait to see how this plays out. D-Will, you know, he made his decision quick and I am sure you are going to see a lot of guys kind of follow his footsteps. So he's very brave to be the first guy to do it."
