New York Mets right fielder Carlos Beltran continues to be one of the most sought-after players as the July 31 trade deadline approaches, and Tuesday the team gave him a list of his potential landing spots.
The MLB-leading Philadelphia Phillies have been added to the group of candidates interested in acquiring the six-time All-Star, Yahoo Sports reports. The Red Sox, Yankees and San Francisco Giants round out the list the Mets provided Beltran, according to the report.
Beltran, who is in the final year of his contract, has a full no-trade clause, and therefore has the final say over any possible deal. He's owed a little under $10 million for the remainder of this season, although the Mets will presumably eat a lot of that in hopes of getting back a better return.
The right fielder is hitting .293 with 14 home runs and 59 RBI in 2011.
The report also says that no offers have been made to date for the Rockies' Ubaldo Jimenez, and that the Sox are not considered one of the teams actively pursuing the right-hander.
