With light at the end of the tunnel for the NFL lockout, Peyton Manning still can't relax and focus on the beginning of training camp.

The Colts quarterback will not be ready for the start of camp because of offseason neck surgery he underwent in May, according to The Indianapolis Star.

"A source familiar with Manning's health situation said Tuesday that Manning will not be able to participate at the outset, and at this point, there's no way of knowing how much time he might miss," Bob Kravitz wrote on Wednesday.

"It could be a week. It could be a couple of weeks. Or even most, or all, of training camp."

Conflicting opinions from the Colts organization and the Manning family only increase the uncertainty surrounding Manning's situation.

The Colts have expressed "little worry" about the surgery that Manning underwent in May, according to NBC Sports. But Manning's father, Archie Manning, is concerned about the progress his son has made in his recovery.

Just weeks ago, Peyton said he has "no idea" when he will be able to return.
