New Jersey Nets guard Deron Williams said more players would make their way overseas, and he was right.

Phoenix Suns center Marcin Gortat reportedly signed a deal to play for Russian team Spartak Saint Petersburg, according to EuroBasket.com. While details of the deal have not yet been made public, it is believed that the 6-foot-11 center's deal will be similar to Williams' contract with Turkish basketball club Besiktas — a one year deal with an option to return to Phoenix, should he decide to do so, once the lockout is over.

After being traded from the Orlando Magic to the Suns early last season, Gortat averaged 13 points and 9.3 rebounds per game for Phoenix.

Spartak won the Russian Cup this season and also reached the semifinals of the FIBA EuroChallenge, which is the third-tier tournament in international competition for men's basketball.
