Report: Red Sox to Sign Dominican Shortstop Raymel Flores

The Red Sox continue to make their presence felt in the Dominican Republic.

According to ESPNDeportes.com, the Sox have signed 16-year-old shortstop Raymel Flores to a contract. According to the reports, the deal comes with an $800,000 signing bonus.

MLBTradeRumors.com says that the young shortstop is a switch-hitter with strong defensive skills.

Earlier this week, the Sox signed another 16-year-old Dominican, outfielder Manuel Marcos, to a deal.
