Russian Women’s Soccer Team to Play Next Match in Bikinis to Boost Ticket Sales

In today's world, sex sells. There is simply no doubt about that.

The sports world is certainly not immune to this either, and Russian woman's soccer club FC Rossiyanka, serves as a testament to that fact. As reported by British newspaper, Metro, the squad recently decided to wear bikinis in their next match in order to boost declining ticket sales.

This is not a stunt by some small-market team, either.

"We are the best woman's team in Russia and have won many championships, even representing our country in the UEFA Champions League," said coach Tatyana Egorova.

FC Rossiyanka has won the Russian Premier League three times (2005, 2006, 2010), and they have qualified for the Women's Champions League twice.

"We think it's a good idea — our players are beautiful, great athletes and determined to win," said Egorova.

Tickets will certainly be sold, but it remains to be seen how many of the people that show up are fans of the game, and how many are simply fans of scantily clad women running around.
