On Thursday, The Bruins returned home in preseason action against the Ottawa Senators in front of a packed house at the TD Garden. Despite an excellent road game against Montreal earlier in the week, the B's came up short 2-1 in the loss.
Milan Lucic scored on a power play about halfway though the first period, giving the Bruins a 1-0 edge. Lucic's goal came off the stick of linemate Nathan Horton, who continued to prove he is symptom-free from last year's season-ending hit from Vancouver's Aaron Rome.
Though the B's ended up losing 2-1, they were able to show that the summer celebration did not go to their heads, with both Ottawa goals not coming easy. Despite his smaller frame, Andrew Ference displayed toughness in the corners and Horton had the impressive assist.
One thing is certain: Horton, David Krejci and Lucic's line is among the most promising in the NHL.
