Andres Mendoza Scores Twice As Columbus Crew Defeat Revolution 3-0 in New England’s Home Finale

Peruvian striker Andres Mendoza scored twice to secure the Crew's victory over the Revolution Saturday night at Gillette Stadium.

Mendoza's two goals bring his season total to 13, good enough for fourth most in the league.

The win for Columbus puts the team at 13-12-8 for the season, allowing it to hold on to their playoff hopes in the Eastern Conference.

The same cannot be said for New England. The loss moves the Revs to 5-16-12 with a 4-7-6 record at home.

With one game left this season, the Revs will post their worst record since 2001, when they won only seven games. In their last 13 games, the Revs are 1-7-5 with five straight losses and 10 shutout losses on the year.
